Terms of Use

These terms govern access to and use of Jasper County Criminal History. Using the website means that a visitor accepts every provision below. A visitor who does not accept the terms should stop using the website.

Not for FCRA Use. This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Information found here or through a linked search tool must not be used for credit, employment, tenant screening, insurance, or any other FCRA-regulated decision.

1. What This Website Is

Jasper County Criminal History is a privately operated reference resource. It is not part of Jasper County, the State of Missouri, a court, a police agency, the sheriff, or the Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS Central Repository. The website publishes general information about locating public criminal-record sources and may provide links to government pages and outside search services.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Every visitor agrees to use the website and its information lawfully. In particular, a visitor must not:

  • Use automated bots, scrapers, or similar tools against the website
  • Interfere with performance or prevent another person from using the website
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or restricted resource
  • Use information to threaten, stalk, or harass another person
  • Rely on website content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Violate any applicable federal, Missouri, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from the website or a linked tool may not be used to intimidate, threaten, stalk, harass, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. That prohibition is especially important for the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Section 589.402 RSMo authorizes the public Internet registry and makes clear that registry information may not be used to facilitate a crime. Registry access exists for lawful public-safety awareness, not vigilantism, retaliation, blacklisting, or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Jasper County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. Neither we nor our advertising partners produce consumer reports, credit reports, or background-check products designed for regulated screening. A visitor agrees not to use website information or any linked tool to:

  • Make any other decision regulated by the FCRA
  • Evaluate eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Set an insurance premium or judge creditworthiness
  • Screen a housing or rental applicant
  • Decide whether to hire, retain, or dismiss a worker

A person who needs an official check for a lawful purpose should use the Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS Central Repository or an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

Website content is informational and is not legal advice. General descriptions of Jasper County records cannot determine how a warrant, pending charge, conviction, or Missouri expungement law applies to one person. Advice about a specific situation should come from a Missouri-licensed attorney.

6. No Warranties

The website and its content are supplied “as is.” We make no promise that:

  • Partner search results will be complete or correctly matched
  • Every page will remain available without interruption
  • The website will contain no defect, error, or security weakness
  • Any item will be accurate, complete, or current at a particular time

Jasper County records can change as charges are filed or dismissed and as files are amended, closed, or expunged. The Missouri Sunshine Law also contains access limits, including those for arrest and investigative reports under section 610.100 RSMo. Website content is never an official statement by a court, sheriff, police department, or state agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

The website links to Jasper County offices, Missouri court and agency portals, legal resources, and outside search services. Following a link takes a visitor to a service beyond our control. We are not responsible for that service’s content, privacy practices, prices, availability, or results. Review its terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code on the website belong to Jasper County Criminal History or the applicable content partner. No one may reproduce, alter, distribute, or create a derivative use of that material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the website, including a choice made in reliance on website information or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or legal proceedings caused by that visitor’s use of the website or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Missouri law governs these terms. A legal dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located within the State of Missouri.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. A revised version becomes effective when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend, restrict, or end access to the website at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be adjusted only as far as necessary to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be submitted through the Contact page.
